PgMP CERTIFICATION BOOT CAMP

Certification Training (14PDUs)

Overview

Are you preparing to earn your Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification?  Do you have the experience, but are not sure if earning the PgMP certification is for you?  Are you planning to take the PgMP Exam in the near future (Did you know that you do not have to take the PMP exam in order to take the PgMP exam)?  Then you should consider taking a 2-day boot camp to help you understand and prepare for the PgMP certification exam.

In 2006, the Project Management Institute launched the PgMP certification.  It is designed to demonstrate your management of programs (defined as projects and non-project work that are managed as a program because of the interdependencies between them and to obtain greater benefits than each project was managed in a standalone way).  Because management of a program is more complex than managing a single project, the PgMP certification is more rigorous than the PMP or CAPM.

Protrain Canada will provide you with all the training and coaching you need to pass the PgMP exam and get certified

Be Recognised for Your Elite-level Capabilities

The Project Management Institute (PMI) is the world's leading association for the project management profession. PMI credentials are globally recognised and prove your level of education and experience in project management.

A Program Management Professional (PgMP) oversees programs, defines projects and assigns project managers.

PgMP certification is PMI's most elite qualification - proving that you have the advanced experience, knowledge and skills necessary to define and oversee multiple projects, and deliver on important organisational objectives.

It is comprised of 3 distinct parts:

 1) A detailed application in which you must demonstrate your experience in program management, in each of the areas of the six domains:

A) Defining
B) Initiating
C) Planning
D) Executing
E) Monitoring and Controlling
F) Closing

This application also requires demonstration of project experience and answers to eight questions regarding actual program management.

Once you submit your application to PMI for a completeness review, most applications are audited by your program sponsors you list in your application.  Then, applications are reviewed by a panel of experts selected by PMI who are PgMPs.  After these reviews are completed, you then are eligible to take the exam.  For more information on the application process, please download

http://www.pmi.org/CareerDevelopment/Pages/AboutCredentialsPgMP.aspx

------------------------

2) Next, you must pass a 170 question exam to test both your knowledge and experience in program management.  The purpose of this 2-day boot camp is to equip you with the information you need to help you as you study and subsequently pass the exam.

To maximize the two days, we want you to have reviewed and hopefully completed your application and also to have reviewed the Standard for Program Management – Second Edition.  As a PMI member, you can download this Standard, but we recommend you purchase a hard copy of it for your studies.

-----------------------

3) Then, once you pass the exam, you undergo a multi-rater process in which your sponsor, peers, direct reports, and other references rate your actual experience in managing a program.
